Sports Team Pins

Sports Team Pins

Sports team pins honor the great franchises and dynasties in every major sport. Teams such as the Pittsburgh Steelers of the '70s, the Edmonton Oilers of the '80s, the Chicago Bulls of the '90s, and the modernday New York Yankees are all prime examples of sports empires. Each of them deserves its own line of sports pins as a token of their dominance in their respective sports.

Young fans in particular will recall the playoff heroics of Michael Jordan in the '90s, namely versus the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics in the Conference Championships. Those who are a bit older remember the Wayne Gretzkyled Oilers who cruised to Stanley Cups in 1984, 1985, 1987, and 1988. Teams such as these live on not only in the hearts and minds of their fans, but in those of any true sports aficionado.

One of the best things about sports team pins is that they honor the combined efforts of those great championship teams. Sure, Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky led the way for their respective clubs, but without the help of guys such as Scottie Pippen and Mark Messier, these superstars' efforts surely would have been in vain. Sports lapel pins are as much a tribute to those supporting casts as they are to the leaders.

Even in more individual sports such as golf or tennis there are team competitions such as the Davis Cup and the Olympics. These give maverick athletes the rare chance to compete as part of a team. As great as the rivalry was between Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi, there was something truly special about watching them play on the same side during international competition. And, as you might expect, there are Davis Cup sports pins that salute their partnership.
